"When I started my pageant journey, I was pretty clueless. I had no prior knowledge of, or experience in the pageant world. I am so lucky that Becky Minger was sitting in the audience the night I competed in my first pageant, making the top 15 at Miss Ohio Teen USA. After the pageant, Becky reached out and told me she saw potential in me and wanted to work with me to help me reach that potential. The first day I worked with her, two beautiful things happened. 1) She told me to stop wearing my huge, unflattering false eyelashes (inside joke) and 2) She opened my eyes to my OWN potential that I struggled to see. The next time we met, I told her I wanted to be Miss Ohio and that I believed I could do it, even as a first-timer and an 18 year old. And guess what? We did that and SO much more. Becky has helped prepare me for 2 national pageants - Miss America, where I won a preliminary swimsuit award and Miss USA, where I was honored to place in the top 10! My transformation through the years has been unbelievable. I had a story to tell and I wanted to effectively and powerfully share it through my journey in pageants. Becky helped bring to life my story by formulating tangible and relatable tactics to get my mission across. Together we developed an iconic message, #KeepingitReal, that I carry with me to this day beyond the pageant world. She helped me streamline my personality and my mission into one coherent brand. The greatest thing about working with Becky is I have gained an incredible friend and mentor that has prepared me for much more than a pageant. She has prepared me for all the competitions of life as I continue to push myself to be my best and most successful self."
